East and West

Munchkin is in for a bit of a shock . He has no idea how many people he is going to meet when he gets off that plane in Malaysia. Not only will he have to contend with the time difference, the humidity and the heat, he is going to have to be exposed to all the siau Hokkien and Hainam lang who are all very loud. "Geramnya!" they will say as they pinch his little cheeks. "Chian tee nam, lah!" some will say as they sniff at him in a strange bloodhound-esque manner. Poor Munchkin.

He will then be fed all sorts of foreign matter. He will be spoken to in many different chinese dialects (all at FULL volume - there are two volumes in chinese, mute or LOUD) and who knows, my grandma might actually make him do THE TEST. A few different things are laid out on a platter, and Munchkin has to choose one. This will (of course, who are we to doubt) determine his life's destiny. Bet Munchkin picks food, though. There might be gold to signify riches and stuff to represent intellectual advancement but Munchkin will pick FOOD.

Mama always said that chinese people live to eat......after all, that is what teeth are for!
